Thursday 04FEB2016

Enjoyed watching this hawk work through their lunch in our backyard.  TZ was a bit irked because she realized her feeding the song birds off the bird feeder was probably just a feeding of the hawk.

I got a little less than an hour of jogging in the afternoon.  This week with work pressures, the weather, the cold I have … it has been a “hold on” week.  I am not doing anything effectively to move fitness forward … it feels like it is slipping the other way.  On days like this I just need to get out and keep plugging.

The run was with Greg and he was doing some track work.

In the evening, I headed out to connect with Todd and Peter and other contributors to the Boulder Running Journal

Good conversations with folks, and not just about running … (although a challenge of 26.2 miles on 26 different local tracks was toss around, along with beer miles, and beer marathon slogs) … stuff like kids and college, babies, writing, photography, rights of content in a digital age, what the next Journal would hold, what it means to “do your best” and legit efforts.

Quote of the night that rang over and over in my head was when I yapped with Todd … “yeah, you guys use to kill me in races.  But then you all got slower.”
