The magic is in the man, not the 100 miles – Bill Bowerman

AM – 5 miles.  I slept in a bit (6:30), and almost thought I would not get out in the AM – but I decided that getting out and getting some would set me up better for the day than doing nothing.  I headed out in shorts in 28 degrees.  Everytime I do this (shorts in the cold weather rather than some sort of running pants), I think of one of the first times I ran with Lucho (2008!).  He came jogging up 287 bundled up like he was going on the Iditirod and I was dressed like Max King at a XC race (meaning very light).  I had barely met the guy and he was laying into me on how stupidly I was dressed.  And it was love at first site right there baby.

Speaking of badasses like Max, Max might be in the area this summer for a burro race.

Another quick lunch turn around … I skipped the BBQ.  5 miles.  Ran up to the back of the jail today in the Great Western Space.  Nice little jog up there and then you can roll nicely back.  The pressure to get it done in lunch nudges me along to run a bit quicker than if I had more time.  No complaints there.

Linking to this just because I mentioned mile repeats yesterday.

Reavis rips Coe.

Hit the leg extension machine after the run, and did 2x the reps on the left than the right.  They were a lot harder on the left, and not just because of the count.
