IMG-20110811-00608Pearl Street Mile was last night. I had no inclination to race it, but also did not attend as I had some Cub Scout duties to attend to. I was sort of blown away this AM to see five of the Fleet Feet Masters guys all take the five top spots - all in fairly zippy times. Seeing that definitely lights a bit of a fire. Sub 5 seems a light year away right now. These results turn my head towards getting after that sort of stuff for a bit once I get through this next race.

Of course that means I would have to train as such and I am so much more in a habit right now of getting in some amount of time or mileage a day. Some of that comes out of some level of what is necessary, what I can get. I think I am probably like most. I want to run short and fast, but also shell myself bolting up to a high mountain ridge, touch the sky before ripping back down a canyon to home.

Possible FKT on Longs by Burch.

AM – 4 miles along the ditch.

This is a great post about Pikes by an age group record holder.

More good stuff on electrolytes.

PM - LOSH, a short hill with crappy footing, pitching to 13 percent. 8 of these, with the efforts around 70 seconds. Happened to be in the neighborhood picking up a free pair of running shoes from PI that I won from the CTC challenge last year. Still had the coupon. Used to do this hill all the time when our office was over in Louisville. Glad to see that it is still around, but ... I used to do it quicker. :) 7 miles. Hot.
