Back to the basics.  Back to the start

Up at Lucho’s place.  An easy six and change.  Great and amazing theories, insightful thoughts, and pearls of wisdom were exchanged.  Or sumthin’ like that.  You have to show up to find out how wonderful it is or ain’t.

Always good to run with Lucho.  In flight refueling was not used.  In one run, I got nearly half the vertical I got in all of February.

Got this trail view link from JV.  Jeff has poked at me to consider a Grand Canyon trip this spring.  I am not sure if that is going to work out or not.  I am pretty sure I could not keep up with him and I don’t want to hold him back, as he is currently expected to be top five at Pikes (he was expected to win yesterday).  Got to love that Clayton put down his predicted time as the course record.

In my email today.image
If this is the case, I think I still feel like Tina and not Ike after the last go round.

RRR: (listening actually for this) catching up with a bit of an older podcast, Rich Roll interviews Charlie Englie

This song has not become old for me yet.

Afternoon – dog jog.  I was not given much of a choice with the 60 degree temps and this look.  4.2 miles.

  1. major points for the TINA reference in a running blog! funny how one can develop a relationship with an event such as a race. i am new the game but there are already some "ike's" in development.

    cheers from planet rain--Oregon.

    1. I love Pikes. It does not seem to love me the same way. I hate that chick.

  2. As far as the ditch is concerned, don't worry about keeping up, this to me is a solo mission, with all the social time being spent driving there, camping, eating, driving home, like last time.

  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL2FLJNk9F8&feature=youtube_gdata_player. Another version that is one of my favs. The whole series of them on Letterman is pretty cool.

    1. That is great. FWIW, I think most FF songs are better live, but this one might be better in the studio version.

  4. Clayton also said he would try and run 14 flat at Western.

But on the flip side, if someone's going to break the record, they do have to run like an idiot from the start or they'll never have a chance.

    1. I can see why he would do it? Why not? Put your name out there and get some exposure. Worst thing that happens is you don't do that.
