- AM – 4 miles with 7 x 20 second strides. Meant to do six but I lost count.
- Results from Sierre Zinal. Gates and Erholz both post top five finishes!
- Interview with Nancy Hobbs regarding the USMRT.
- Thinking I might have seriously sprained or even got a minor fracture in my thumb with that fall I took on Pikes last week. It is still pretty gimpy. Oh well, at least I saved the camera this time.
- The “training load” view from Sportracks prior to today’s run. The ramp up represented here is not really fair because it did not have data from before June (I as not really wearing the HR monitor – which is the data it uses, along with time at those HRs, to determine workload). You can see harder workouts represented by taller brown lines, and easier ones represnted by short ones.
McDuff, sent me a shot from the trip last week! This is just after the A frame, and before the “2 to go” mark. I am pulling out my headphones trying to figure out what this guy is saying to me.
Is it my imagination or is your "training load" graph taking on the look of Pikes Peak silhouette.
ReplyDeleteI actually had that thought as well! I only wish there were a bit more downhills like that along the way!

ReplyDeleteHaulin' Aspen half results. Bernie running well again, up there. More impressive though, Caitlin only a few minutes back of him.
Boettcher and Bryant doubled up this past weekend for the La Sportiva Series doing the Jupiter Peak Steeplechase on Sat. and Haulin Aspen on Sun. BB defies the word taper going top 5 everywhere every weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have talked to Bernie (and few other guys like this - like Ames) about this ...
ReplyDelete... they simply feel that they are not race sharp with more significant tapers, and without racing regularly. It is not clear to how much of that is physiology (their metabolism changes when they taper and feel flat?) and how much of that is psychology (their heads).
