Monday morning mountain quarterbacking

Anton has a post up. On a good day, running 100 miles is f**king hard. Period. On a bad day, it's borderline impossible.

Third place finisher at Leadville, Duncan C has an early post up. Tim P has one too but it is still light, but apparently it is his last Leadville. AJW's (who did WS100, HR100 and Leadville this summer) post.

It was apparently 80 degrees at 13K?! DAMN! That is HOT. Still, the course re-route looks to have been advantageous by at least a handful of minutes (as suspected).

With all the focus on Leadville, there is that other mountain running multi day camping trip going on - Transrockies. Looks like Mr Mock's team is in fourth (another article). It is a little hard for me to get amped up to watch this ... it seems more like a camping trip to me. Mind you, a very cool camping trip ... just not my camping trip. Sorry. I am sure I'd feel different if I was there ... and maybe these sorts of races will be something I get into in the future, but oddly I find myself not pouring over these results like other mountain races.

Mountain running pioneer Pablo Vigil posts over at Rickey's blog.

  1. You aren't into them because you are fast. If you were slow like me, you would enjoy the prospect of walking in a race!
