Tuesday 110111

Busy day at work so I did not get out until JZ’s soccer practice.  7 miles, but again at a nice clip.  I might be ready to be thinking about 5k work again.  But supposedly we get 6-10 inches of snow again tonight so the track will be buried.

Mind boggling article from SoS on marathon top end and how it has shifted.  19 of 20 of the top marathons this year come from Kenya.  Every major has been won by a Kenyan.  The average of the top 10 marathons this year is faster than the WR from a decade ago, with 8 men breaking that record.  Great article but crappy title – seismic shift.

Leadville reg opened, and nope – I did not bite (where does that additional 20k in reg fees go folks?)  Some folks don’t buy the Pb hypeOthers love it.

  1. Does Leadville have a cap? Just hoping you don't have time to sit with your hand hovering over the "submit" button on the reg page for to long :).

I think the south side of town is making up for last's weeks less accumulation ... today we have a good 10". No visible track here, at least for several days.

  2. I am not sure if they have a FS cap, or if there is some other internal cap they have. I think I have heard 800.

I really have no intention of doing Leadville at this point.

We have about 6 inches of the white stuff up here in Broomfield today.

  3. GZ is skipping Leadville for the Bear, since it's harder.
