AM – 9.4 as the family awoke. Slow start today. I didn’t get out of the rack until 7:30.
Doesn’t look like it but it is a long escalator down to the Picadilly Line.
We hit a wool shop outside of Picadilly Circus where TZ got some of the local flavor.
Obligatory phone shot with the crumb grabbers.
British Museum.
The freaking actual Rosetta Stone.
There are donkeys everywhere in history. This piece is from 2400 BC.
1600BC
It was another museum of mind boggling proportions and history. Parts of the Parthenon. Egyptian crypts. Mesopotamia. Romans. Greeks. Celts. The dynasties of China. Crazy.
I spent a fair amount of time in the clock room, covering from early clocks to modern clocks.
KZ reading hieroglyphics.
Another day buzzing around, museums, shops, Trafalgar Square and the like. Wow.
That's gotta be a great museum. Plus, donkey art.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe so much of the Egyptian text is missing from the top of the stone. At least the bottom part was there for comparison.
It is one of those museums that you can spend weeks in and not see everything.
