A few folks from back home sent me this link. Some might recall this is the guy who won the 24 hour race when I did the 100 at the rez a few years ago.
We spent the morning in Bath, checking out the city center, the shops and sites, before heading back east to London.
As we walked in KZ wanted a pic of this wall.
We walked by the Royal Crescent.
And then we were walking the shops in tight alleys in Bath. Yes, we got pasties for lunch.
KZ eyeing the baked goods.
The River Avon in Bath We then hit the the Bath Abbey. Admittedly, it was more than I expected. I was overwhelmed by how ridiculously large. The effort of these sort of structures, tends to leave me wondering about an imagination I don’t seem to have.
KZ in Bath Abbey
This shot was actually taken via a mirror reflecting the abbey roof.
Over a 1000 years ago!
That is a lot of glass. Apparently 60 plus panels depicting the life of Jesus.
A panoramic of the abbey.
JZ soaking it up.
We were in the abbey for about an hour. She was polishing it nearly the entire time.
Another of the pano’s
We then wondered back out into the city.
KZ said a couple of times, “I am in England!” This guy was good. He obviously had captured an audience with his still sitting scene …
But the water pouring thing got me. The water kept coming from the bottle, into the cup, probably at least ten minutes worth for the part I watched.
We then started to London from Bath, which included a fair walk from the hotel to the train station along the river, skipping a cab. So, what would an English trip be without a delayed train? We were delayed from Bath to London Paddington because of a fatality on the tracks.
Kids got to experience the Underground in full peak flight as we skidded into London. No pix of that as the gummit here takes those for you. City here we come. Coming out of the Underground, under a full moon.
We are definitely enjoying the trip, although we have felt the small challenge of being on top of each other in the same room in our accommodations. All good.
