Monday 120814

AM – slow to rise but it is 2 hours earlier.  Got out and jogged over to the Valley Forge park area for a quick eyeball of that.IMG_2814IMG_2813Pretty gorgeous stuff out there.  5.3 miles.

Supposed to get a Nor’easter up here tomorrow and I don’t have a ton of clothes with me for that stuff.  Not sure when I will be here again so I might have to suck it up.

Evening – headed over to Valley Forge and poked around there some.  Stuck to the paved surfaces for the evening jaunt.  It is a pretty amazing park, even without light.  Was fun to buzz around in the dark, no sounds except the wind in the leaves.   Checked out the National Memorial Arch, lit up and alone in the dark.  On it reads:

And here in this place of sacrifice, in this vale of humiliation, in this valley of the shadow of that death out of which the life of America rose regenerate and free let us believe with an abiding faith that to them union will seem as dear and liberty as sweet and progress as glorious. They were to our fathers and are to you and me and that the institutions which have made us happy preserved by the virtue of our children shall bless the remotest generation to the time to come. - Henery Armitt Brown

Pic from wikipedia.

Started slow and easy (8:20 pace) but picked up as I warmed up and eased up in the head.  8.2 miles.

News stuff – everything you need to know (sadly, bad) in TnF at current.
Wardian is a freak.  Look it up.
And Dave is a freak too
This is a kick ass report:  Unless I dedicate myself fully to the sport, I’ll never reach my potential in it.
