  1. Odd, since the former winner entry deadline was Aug 14th.

That said, now I wish I was not running so I can watch this race from the top. :-)

  2. Its going to be ugly in a beautiful way how fast a few folks like Randall and Macias are going to head off the front.

  3. Although I have no business being near the front - I might try being near there at the start line of it to catch a glimpse of the madness at the start.

  5. I have an idea for another poll - did Matt Carpenter invent Twitter?

You know the near real time web results that they've been doing for years on the Pikes Peak races? He should have patented and commercialized that. :)

  6. This is great! I didn't think they could top last year's field, but they now have. Please don't let them run straight through the Bottomless Pit sign this year. See you at the JV race.

  9. Justin - if I change my predictions at runcolo one more time I might break that website. Or the guy running that contest. But I hear he is as strong as a Navy Seal.

  10. Someone of consequence (like MC or Ron Ilgen) needs to tell Randall that he's not breaking any rules. Yes they have published dates, but I'm sure its to draw a line in the sand for things like forest permits and things and after that date they have the right to say no if they want to...even to a previous winner. But if their permit count and other things are fine they also have the right to say yes. They have published time cutoffs for A-Frame, but they have changed those before too.

  11. total guess here ... I am betting he got in, and then someone bitched. I think he ought to race and be allowed to without question but there is that entire "it ain't fair" thing that is going to be called out.

  12. I wonder if he is even in town. The news conference was at 1 today and he posted his "sorry" at 1:15. I've been looking and haven't seen anything from that posted anywhere.
