Monday 081511 part 2

Carpenter is in. The world is right.

Number one thing for me to worry about this week is staying ahead of hydration (I often get behind) and sleep. And not getting hurt.

  1. There's a certain local-knowledge factor that plays into this race for you. I can relate this to just about any activity someone is keenly familiar with. Surfing: one knows that particular swell so well that he has an considerable advantage over someone who's not so familiar. This goes for any subject matter in terms of the expertise of its practitioners.

My point: if you're fit (you are), healthy (you are), rested and hydrated (you better be), you're knowledge (and magnified excitement for) of the race should give you a very decent result.

And if you don't put too much pressure on yourself, you might just do something special. Go, GZ!

And thanks for the link to IT!

  2. Thanks Matt! I am going to have a pre race post up in the next day or two about my strategy on this one.

  3. New poll.
what excites GZ more: pair of sweaty socks, a treadmill at incline, or the fact that Carpenter and GZ are next to each other on the entrant list?
